Ponyo...Yes, it was rather ugly, the animation on some scenes was good, but there were some mistakes in it at some times...Did you notice the giant steps of the mom? It was so random...And there were mistakes in the story, like when they are under the giant jellyfish dome. At the beginning they were making bubbles under it, and then no bubbles, and in the final scene under it, they make bubbles again...
If it was the only Myazaki i had seen, i would say it's radicaly different from other animations i've seen so far, but not that it was good...
What is your favourite Myazaki?
spirited away is my favorite, hands down. Porco rosso probably comes in second
